Voilà

Terms of Service

Effective October 4, 2026

These terms govern your use of Voilà (“the app”), a macOS application published by Francois Lopitaux (“we”). By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.

1. The app

Voilà is a free app that displays and manages the tasks in your own Google Tasks account, with time tracking and organization features. It runs on your Mac and connects directly to Google.

2. License

Voilà is open-source software released under the MIT License. You may use, copy, modify and distribute it under that license's terms. You agree not to use the app to violate any law or the rights of others.

The OAuth client built into the official download identifies the Voilà app to Google. If you distribute a modified version, create and use your own Google OAuth client.

3. Your Google account

To use Voilà you connect your own Google account and grant it access to your Google Tasks. You are responsible for your account and the content of your tasks. Your use of Google services remains subject to Google's terms and policies. You can revoke Voilà's access at any time, as described in the Privacy Policy.

4. Your data

Your tasks remain yours and stay in your Google account. How the app handles data is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.

5. Availability and changes

The app depends on Google services that we do not control, and features may change, be interrupted or stop working. We may update, modify or discontinue the app at any time.

6. No warranty

The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that data (including tasks and tracked time) will never be lost or altered.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or productivity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app. Because the app is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to zero, or to the minimum amount required by applicable law.

8. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by signing out and deleting it. We may end your license if you breach these terms.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The updated version will be published on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
